I’m Jack Cave, a modelmaker and prop maker with over 10 years of experience working in film and TV art departments. I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree in Modelmaking from Arts University Bournemouth, and my work covers architectural, scale, and practical modelmaking for screen.
I’ve worked on a range of feature films and TV productions, with highlights including Barbie and Wicked, alongside projects such as No Time to Die and Aquaman the last Kingdom. My work is typically focused on building physical models for design development, planning, and visualisation within the art department.
Alongside traditional modelmaking and prop-making skills, I specialise in digital fabrication, with a strong focus on 3D printing, laser cutting, and CNC machining. I regularly work from concept sketches, digital files, and 3D-scanned data, turning early ideas into accurate, buildable physical models. I’m trained in ZBrush and Rhino, using them as part of a practical, production-focused workflow.
I also have a background in hard-edge prop making and sculpting, producing models and objects for film, displays, and advertising.
